Blue Mountain, Life at The Lighthouse

The Lighthouse takes over Blue Mountain Outdoor Adventures

Blue Mountain Outdoor Adventures

On June 1st, The Lighthouse took possession of Blue Mountain Outdoor Adventures near North Battleford, Saskatchewan.  Here is the description of what Blue Mountain is.

It’s 8 quarters of some of the hilliest and beautiful land in the middle of the Thickwood Hills in Saskatchewan and features a chalet, cabins, three different zip lines, two different paintball courses, a stocked trout fishing pond, and miles and miles of cross country and mountain bike trails.

Blue Mountain’s lodge & campground is a year round facility located in the heart of a spectacular recreational area nestled in the middle of the Thickwood Hills where it is close to abundant fishing, wildlife and recreation.

The local area has numerous hiking, mountain bike, horseback, and cross country ski trails to explore. It is the perfect spot for the adventurer or outdoor enthusiast.  Whether you are looking for a secluded spot to tent in or a place to park your RV, we have just what you are looking for.

Blue Mountain offers incredible opportunities for outdoor activities such as hiking, mountain biking, fishing, horseback riding or cross country skiing. It’s also a great place for bird watching and wildlife viewing, so remember to bring your camera!

Blue Mountain is a convenient location for day trips – only an hour from Saskatoon.

See the sights, then retreat to the peace and solitude of your campfire or one of our cozy cabins at the end of the day. Fall asleep gazing at the stars and wake up in the morning to the sound of birds, the rushing river and the sight of towering mountains.

Open year-round, we encourage winter camping – a terrific time to experience the amazing Northern Lights. For something a little different, come spend Christmas or New Year’s at Blue Mountain.

You can connect to Blue Mountain online in a variety of ways.

The reason The Lighthouse purchased Blue Mountain is that offers the residents of The Lighthouse a tranquil environment beyond the inner city where homeless men and women from across Saskatchewan can realize their full potential and positively change their lives.  The goal is to use it connect with residents, help them experience something that many never had an opportunity to enjoy themselves, and use it to learn the basic life skills necessary to sustain employment and independence. It’s a big step for The Lighthouse but we are looking forward to the challenge and the opportunity it gives us to make a difference in the people we serve.
